I am 35 Years of age and I live in the Rotherham area of South Yorkshire. I am a very happy family man with one wonderful daughter and wife. I have been married for 6 years come November 2009, and my wife gave birth to my first child in November 2004. It was brought to my attention that in 2006 there was nothing for the youngsters in and around the Rotherham, Barnsley area. With this in mind I decided to create a drama group for the little ones, and adults alike, and to which it would give them something to do after school in the form of an after school club. As a result of this, we would be generating money towards local productions to act on stage, and as a direct result of this, money from the sale of tickets after expenses to be donated to a nominated charity of our choice yet to be nominated. I have done many musicals on stage with many a theatre company, some of which include:- Oliver, South Pacific, Smike, Babes in the wood, and many more besides. Due to a disability I can no longer perform in shows due to a leg injury, but I am now in a position where I can direct, and having had the experience of directing ‘Smike’ which is set in a Victorian school by Charles Dickens. Wizard of Oz will be the first show that I intend to do since moving to South Yorkshire, which is my birth town. I was born in Doncaster in 1972, and then my parents moved down to Hastings in East Sussex. When my father retired from the police force, my parents then decided to tour the EU in an American RV. Unfortunately when I was 29 my mother died from Terminal Cancer, and thus shortly after that my father moved back to South Yorkshire, which I then followed.
After the couple of years that we have had since getting our group up and started we have officially started to get the auditions up and running for the production of the Wizard Of Oz, and if anyone is interested then please let me know and I will be more than happy to send out an information pack and an application form. We look forward to hearing from you.

Milton Players Drama Group prides ourselves on the basis that we are not raising money for our own needs, and on this basis the only money that we take from the productions we make is the running costs which could be paying for costume hire, scenery building and materials and such things like hiring a stage manager and a lighting crew. All these add up to running such a group like ours, and therefore unless we get funding from in dependant groups bills need to be paid. From the day we start making money for our own profits, our credibility goes down and we lose trust with businesses that are backing us. Trust plays a lot in our group and therefore if within the first year of membership we do not produce a show then we will refund your membership and we will still honour the 10% to the nominated charity. We cannot be fairer than that towards our members
